Behaviour Support

Our team works with individuals who exhibit a variety of developmental needs, challenging behaviours, social difficulties, or suffer from high levels of anxiety. Our aim is to support our clients to live happier, more productive lives and to reach an overall improved quality of life. We work collaboratively with the client and their family in building skills for personal independence and other adaptive skills for home, school, college and community settings. Support is based on comprehensive skills and behavioural assessments and as such, is individualised to each person’s needs. The assessment phase may include an Education or Diagnostic Psychological Assessment by other H&A Psychologist team members.

The practice specialises in providing practical supports and solutions to everyday challenges. We use skill teaching and problem solving as a central part of intervention development. The practice uses evidence supports such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness Based Interventions.  We also work with our own Counselling Psychologists to provide a team approach as needed. Consultations are provided in our office at 4 Molesworth Place, Dublin 2, at your home, in school and in day and residential services as most relevant.

Our team provides services for the following:

  • Autism
  • Intellectual Disabilities
  • Attention deficits and Hyperactivity
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Tic Disorders
  • Eating disorders
  • Challenging Behaviour
  • Social Skills
  • Executive Functioning to improve academic skills
  • Independent living skills
  • Community functioning

Following the behavioural assessment and development of a behaviour support plan, we can train others to implement the plan, or provide behaviour specialists to do so, progressively fading out as goals and objectives are met. Oversight is provided by Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBA) leading each team.
